Media’s Big Three Play Deaf

DETROIT, August 21, 2015 (ChurchMilitant.com) - The top three major news networks are refusing to cover in any depth the Planned Parenthood video exposés.

Since the release of the first video by the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) on July 14, 2015, CBS, NBC and ABC have devoted only 23.5 minutes to coverage of the exposés out of a total of 240 hours and 30 minutes of general news coverage. As far as playing the exposés themselves, all three networks combined have only aired 1 minute and 13 seconds of them. Breaking it down, CBS has played 60 seconds of the CMP videos, NBC has played 13 seconds, and ABC hasn't bothered to show the videos at all.

To put this in perspective, the unedited CMP videos are several hours long and available on YouTube. And each of the edited videos average between 10 and 15 minutes.

That 1 minute and 13 seconds aired on the major networks included none of the footage showing Planned Parenthood employees digging through aborted infants' body parts.

And the latest video exposé has received no coverage at all at CBS, NBC or ABC — it's arguably the most disturbing video yet, and shows a fully intact aborted baby moving in his steel dish. It also includes testimony from former StemExpress employee Holly O'Donnell recounting a time she cut through the face of an aborted baby whose heart was still beating. FoxNews has been the only major news network to cover the seventh video.

Back in 2012, when Obama was running against Mitt Romney, the big three spent 88 minutes covering the Romney "47 percent" undercover video. They spent 96 minutes covering Sen. Todd Akin's statement that pregnancies can't happen in a "legitimate rape." And a total of 165 minutes was spent covering NBA-owner Donald Sterling's racist comments. Some speculated that the networks spent time covering these stories because they contributed to the Obama 2012 campaign.

While the CMP videos are still being released on a regular basis, the three major networks have spent 102 minutes covering the death of Cecil the Lion, plus an extra 45 minutes of nightly coverage by ABC. The aborted infants in the Planned Parenthood exposés have received less than a quarter of news time in comparison to an animal.
