As you are likely aware, my father, Russ Voris, suffered a massive heart attack Wednesday, August 30.
By the grace of God and all your good prayers, he has come through quite miraculously.
I brought him home within 48 hours, where he is convalescing comfortably and being taken good care of by me, although I'm a little beat down.
On a serious note, after much prayer and reflection, I have come to the conclusion that I will not be able to travel abroad or spend any significant time on the road, owing to my father's needs.
The pilgrimage, however, is going forward with Susan and Carmen, as well as at least one priest in Rome, who will be giving you a marvelous talk on one of the martyrs of the Roman persecution.
And, of course, all the previously scheduled tours by the local tour guides are still a go as well.
I'm very sorry I will not be able to be with you, at least in person.
We're trying to set up an interactive live stream for several of the nights when you gather for dinner at the hotel, so we can at least be connected that way and interact with one another.
For those of you who signed up for the two-day Rome Extension, that's also moving forward. One of the activities we have planned is a tour of Castel Gandolfo, which was recently opened to the public.
If you have any questions, please direct them to our pilgrimage coordinators, The Catholic Tour.
Lastly, as a small gesture, we're going to send each of you a complimentary copy of St. Michael’s Media’s next book, Resistance: Fighting the Devil Within, when it is published and available toward the end of the year.
Buon viagio, and safe travels.
