Joe Biden: "500,071 dead."
The mainstream media was ready to go with Biden's claim on Monday that half a million Americans have died from COVID. No sooner did he finish his speech when headlines hit the press.
"U.S. Surpasses 500,000 COVID-19 Deaths, A Monumental Loss," reads the New York Times. "A Loss to the Whole Society: U.S. COVID-19 Death Toll Reaches 500,000," writes NPR. And, of course, CNN: "As 500,000th COVID Death Looms, U.S. Reaches Pivotal Moment."
Politico even hailed Biden as prophetic, writing in a subtitle that, after inauguration, he "predicted the nation would hit half a million deaths by the end of February." But some have concerns about the accuracy of these numbers.
Dr. Scott Jensen: "I've certainly had concerns about that in regards to death certificates — and are we using COVID-19 as a cause of death in situations that we never used before, like with influenza."
Published in October, a study conducted by 10 international scientists explains how the Centers for Disease Control (or CDC) changed its own protocol: "With the inclusion of probable fatalities and significant changes made to how certificates of death are recorded exclusively for COVID-19, scientific objectivity demands that we acknowledge the data presented is inaccurate."
Dr. Henry L. Ealy, one of the scientists, recently told Church Militant the CDC seems to have violated federal laws, and the team behind the report welcomes an audit to try to disprove their findings.
Dr. Scott Jensen: "I think that there is no question we have changed the rules in terms of how we identify the underlying cause of death, and that will distort and, if you will, corrupt the quality of data we have."
In his address, Biden compared his dubious COVID death tolls to American wars.
Joe Biden: "That's more Americans who've died in one year in this pandemic than in World War I, World War II and the Vietnam War combined."
Michael Hichborn, president of the Lepanto Institute: "Comparing COVID deaths to war is a non-sequitur. We haven't been to war in the last four years. But while Biden is crying about the number of deaths attributed to COVID, he's pushing for the expansion and funding of the leading cause of death in the world, which is abortion."
Biden's positions on so many topics, along with his cabinet picks, make it clear he's immersed in the Culture of Death.
Roughly 3 million Americans die every year, mostly from heart disease, but their deaths have no political use.
