In tonight's In-Depth Report, I expose the big deception in the Left's rhetoric defending its sacred cow.
Dr. Monique Wubbenhorst: "There are no studies that show that increasing rates of abortion decrease maternal mortality."
That's Dr. Monique Wubbenhorst explaining to a U.S. House committee Thursday, there is no science, nor truth to reducing maternal mortality with legal abortion.
Wubbenhorst is a former official at the U.S. Agency for International Development. As an OB-GYN in that role, she cared for disadvantaged populations around the world.
Dr. Wubbenhorst: "Until recently, countries that where abortion was criminalized and prohibited, I'm thinking in particularly Chile, Ireland and I think Cyprus, had the lowest rates of maternal mortality in the world. For several years consecutively, Ireland had zero maternal mortality at a time when abortion was completely illegal."
Last month, the White House attacked a federal 15-week abortion ban introduced in the Senate, claiming this sentiment:
President Joe Biden: "Now with Roe gone, let's be very clear, the health and life of women in this nation are now at risk."
Yet Texas has a 6-week ban, and no women have died as a result of it in the past year.
In the state's race for attorney general, pro-abort candidate Rochelle Garza verbally attacked her pro-life opponent Ken Paxton.
Rochelle Garza: "He is advocating for the intentional killing of women. We need to vote him out before he turns Texas into a morgue."
Leftists like Garza ignore the facts of botched abortions because they just want convenience.
Soon after the Texas heartbeat law took effect, women traveled out of state, including to New Mexico.
There, a late-term abortion mill has a history of injuring mothers and even killing one. Some potentially fatal complications include sepsis, pulmonary embolism and hemorrhage.
In 2014, president of Operation Rescue Troy Newman revealed, "Our calculations — based on conservative estimates indicates [sic]— that nearly 1,000 women might very well be hospitalized each year [from abortions] in Texas alone. That number is completely unacceptable."
According to the United States Bureau of Vital Statistics and the Centers for Disease Control, the last time 1,000 women died of illegal abortions in the United States was in 1942. And in the decade leading up to Roe, deaths ranged from 90 to 150 per year.
Those who support abortion will continue to lie about the stats and make emotional appeals.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren: "I am angry! And I am here!"
All to promote a selfish and deceitful definition of freedom.
Recently, feminist activist Marta Lamas admitted the pro-abortion lobby uses false numbers to justify the legalization of child murder.
