An abortion mill is disavowing Margaret Sanger because she promoted eugenics.

A Planned Parenthood in Manhattan is dropping the name of Sanger, who founded the abortion giant.

A Planned Parenthood official told the New York Times, "The biggest concern with Margaret Sanger is her public support for the eugenics medical philosophy, which was rooted in racism, ableism and classism."

Sanger and the eugenics movement wanted to expel undesirable traits from the gene pool by foisting contraception and sterilization onto immigrants, people with disabilities, convicted criminals and racial minorities.

Pro-life leaders are having mixed responses to the facility's name change.

Presbyterian minister Patrick Mahoney told LifeSiteNews Tuesday that Planned Parenthood owning up to Sanger's racist legacy is "monumental."

But other pro-lifers — like Troy Newman of Operation Rescue — are calling it an empty gesture.

The abortion mill's name change comes as left-wing mobs topple statues of historical figures in the name of opposing racism.

For decades, Planned Parenthood bestowed the Margaret Sanger Award on contraception advocates and pro-abortion politicians — including Hillary Clinton in 2009 and phony Catholic Nancy Pelosi in 2014.

The abortion giant stopped issuing the Sanger award after 2015 but did not respond to media queries this week asking why.

The Manhattan facility's name change echoes what pro-lifers have claimed for years — that Planned Parenthood was founded by a racist.
