Update, Dec. 12, 2015: Priest at center of scandal resigns.
(Reader discretion advised) BRONX (ChurchMilitant.com) - Parishioners in the archdiocese of New York have filed a lawsuit against a priest accusing him of embezzling more than $1 million from two parishes since 2003. Further charges are that the money was used in part to fund his drug-laced sex parties with a homosexual prostitute. The lawsuit alleges these crimes were perpetrated with the full knowledge of the archdiocese and Cdl. Timothy Dolan.
For the last several months, ChurchMilitant.com has been investigating the allegations against Fr. Peter Miqueli, pastor of St. Frances de Chantal in Throggs Neck, New York.
Another ChurchMilitant.com report filed last week raised the question as to how the archdiocese is still allowing this priest to continue in his ministry with these allegations.
One parishioner even stated that Fr. Miqueli has openly declared that he has archdiocesan protection.
Along with those allegations, Fr. Miqueli is also suspected of embezzling parish funds to pay for drug-laced sex parties with a heavily muscled homosexual prostitute, Keith Crist.
Crist's former girlfriend, Tatyana Gudin, alerted the archdiocese to claims that Fr. Miqueli and Crist engaged in sadomasochistic sex acts, where Fr. Miqueli would call Crist "Master" and drink his urine, according to text messages on Crist's phone discovered by Gudin.
The lawsuit states these charges in paragraph 163:
Father Miqueli's self-dealing benefited him by increasing his wealth to as much as by $900,000 worth of assets by 2008, permitting him to buy the N.J. residence, housing his BDSM "master" Keith Crist, purchasing and using illegal drugs, and paying Keith Crist to urinate in Father Miqueli's mouth.
Archdiocesan spokesman Joseph Zwilling responded to the lawsuit, saying, "To date we have found nothing to substantiate the allegations that have been raised. If anyone has information or documentation to substantiate the allegations, we would invite them to bring that information forward, or to contact the district attorney."
ChurchMilitant.com will continue to investigate as this story develops.
