The newest episode of Mic'd Up is here!
An atheist organization is defying Church teaching on sodomy by making a mockery of exorcism.
On June 5, members of UAAR (Union of Rationalist Atheists and Agnostics) gathered in Palermo, Sicily, to perform yet another mock Catholic ritual, a so-called secular exorcism. The militantly anti-Christian organization is the only national association of atheists and agnostics in Italy, and its conduct proves Chesterton very right: "If there were no God, there would be no atheists." UAAR's affiliates, like most atheists, don't live as if there's no God, they live — like all fallen angels — in rebellion against God.
The UAAR said its "moving secular ritual" took place in order to collectively exorcise "the homolesbobitransphobic hate ... that slithers across society." The rally was led by "celebrant" and "reverendess" Massimo Milani, a historical anti-clerical trans activist, one of the founders of Arcigay (the most prominent LGBT organization in Italy) and currently the coordinator of the Palermo Pride parade.
UAAR referred to picket signs describing homosexuality and transgenderism as "symbols" and "sacraments." The protesters twisted language from the Catechism of the Catholic Church in a sign that read "intrinsically disordered sodomite." Paragraph 2357 of the Catechism states that homosexual acts, not individuals, are "intrinsically disordered." Other insults the group rallied beneath are neither in the Bible nor the Catechism.
Regarding the deceitful statements, Italian Catholic pro-life association Pro-Vita & Famiglia declared,
Delirious words to which were added equally delirious accusations against hypothetical insults that UAAR [allegedly] spotted in the Bible and in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. In reality, those were offensive words and expressions transcribed in placards ... without any reference to sources, and for a simple reason: None of those words can be found in the Bible or in the Catechism.
The association called the UAAR's name-calling "another sample of the usual spiteful outburst against that which they don't even know, precisely from people who accuse everyone else of ignorance and gratuitous cruelty."
UAAR's conspicuous anti-Christian sentiment can be identified in most of the organization's initiatives. In the 1990s, for instance, UAAR was in the forefront of a legal battle to assure priests would officially annotate and document an individual's will to apostatize (a process colloquially called "de-baptism"). The organization later launched a website to keep track of all de-baptisms in Italy as a way to counter official statistics of the Church and oppose "the Catholic pretense to represent 98% of Italians."
As Catholics (and members of UAAR) know, baptism seals Christians with an "indelible spiritual mark" (CCC 1272). Although the organization offers a comprehensive list of reasons why atheists must so zealously repudiate what they claim to be a "fake" sacrament, in the end, it all boils down to "canceling the effects of baptism," per UAAR's own words.
If these atheists truly believed baptism is a mere ceremonial gesture that produces no effect, then why would they insist on trying to cancel it?
Another example of UAAR's anti-Catholic activism can be seen in a blasphemous article titled "Chapel of rainbow de-baptism," wherein Catholic imagery is profaned to illustrate reasons why UAAR supports Palermo Pride. The UAAR also promotes a yearly celebration of Darwin Day, a mock feast always themed after a line of the Our Father.
And, last but not least, UAAR supports the anti-sacrament par excellence, abortion. It is currently running an extensive campaign championing pharmacological (drug-induced) abortion as a "wonderful scientific discovery for women's health."
The frequency in which UAAR engages in mock-Catholic rituals brings it much closer to a satanic cult than to an association of rational and reasonable atheists.
Massimo Milani, the transgender activist who headed UAAR's "secular exorcism," has been advocating for LGBT rights in Italy for more than 40 years. He even sought to pursue a political path in 2017, running as town councilor for the city of Palermo. Milani's electoral platform included the creation of a dedicated office to fight LGBT discrimination, the establishment of a publicly funded multi-specialty clinic exclusively for transsexuals, and the promotion of formation courses about gender identity, sexual orientation and homosexual "families" (aimed especially at government employees and, of course, schools). Luckily for Palermitan children, the transsexual only had 256 votes, far fewer than the number of people who annually attend his debauched parade (around 100,000 people, according to a 2019 estimate).
Palermo Pride, which dutifully accommodates children (some of their past years' child-friendly activities include a small train and recreational workshops), its 2019 edition hosted a performance by coordinator Massimo Milani in which he undressed to literally nothing but rainbow body paint. While bare naked in glittered rainbow colors, the activist began to scream "freedom." The striptease took place on a Friday afternoon, right in the heart of Palermo's center, with many children attending the event. Not only were these children exposed to Milani's foul, narcissistic spectacle, they were also subjected to various displays of perversion.
Christian author C.S. Lewis once wisely stated, "There is no neutral ground in the universe. Every square inch, every split second is claimed by God and counterclaimed by Satan." Legions of atheists and LGBT maniacs are not neutral, and they are counterclaiming every split second of our children's lives.
