OKLAHOMA CITY (ChurchMilitant.com) - A satanic organization is moving forward with its plans to publicly blaspheme Catholicism.

Adam Daniels, head of the self-proclaimed satanic organization the Church of Ahriman, is scheduled to perform a public desecration of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Oklahoma City. The event, called "The Consumption of the Mary by Jai Kali Maa" is expected to occur on August 15, the day Catholics celebrate the Virgin Mary's assumption into Heaven.

Archbishop Paul Coakley is asking Catholics to join together with Methodists, Anglicans, Baptists, Evangelicals and others to "pray together for healing and peace, and for the Lord to watch over our community and protect us from evil and its many destructive and violent manifestations. I also ask that we pray for the conversion of this man and for all who have not yet come to know the Lord of Life."

It's the latest in a series of public events going back to May 2014 when a satanic black mass was scheduled to occur on the campus of Harvard University. More than 1,500 people assembled at the Boston Archdiocese-sponsored Holy Hour of Reparation. At the last minute, the student club sponsoring the satanic the event called it off.

In retaliation for the canceled event, Daniels had a black mass at the Oklahoma City Civic Center the following September. Daniels asserted the ritual's purpose is to deprogram people from the influences of Catholicism and Christianity.

Daniels had another public satanic event on Christmas Eve in 2015, where he desecrated a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary on a public sidewalk in front of a Catholic Church in Oklahoma City. Daniels asserted the reason for the desecration was in retaliation for the Catholic outcry against his 2014 black mass and the July 2015 exposure of the unveiling of the statue of Baphomet in Detroit. Daniels added that his desecration is "to add another layer of corruption to Mary, which is an emblem of the Catholic Church."

TFP student action director John Ritchie comments, "To defile and smear the true Mass, the Blessed Sacrament, and the Mother of God is not even remotely a form of religious expression, but rather a direct act of anti-religious bigotry and hatred against God. And when government buildings open their doors and allow a satanic Black Mass that offends God so deeply, it begs the question: Where is our beloved nation headed? Are we still one nation under God?"

Archbishop Coakley agrees, noting that "the local government has refused to interfere with this abhorrent blasphemous worship that is being publicly sanctioned in our community."

Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett has consistently allowed Daniels to hold his public events, despite the fact that hundreds of thousands of people have signed petitions asking him to revoke Daniels' permits.

Daniels' group, the Church of Ahriman, is not associated with another recently popular satanic group, The Satanic Temple, which claims to be atheist and uses the guise of satanism for political activism.
