TRANSCRIPT

Two pertinent things occurred yesterday [Thursday] in the realm of American politics: Crooked Hillary Clinton made her comeback speech at the New York State Democratic Party Convention, and President Donald Trump wrote a public memo targeting Clinton while defending himself. Church Militant's Paul Murano puts into context what may be the first two shots of a two-year campaign that ends in a 2024 presidential rematch.

Hillary Clinton came out swinging at Republicans (and Donald Trump, specifically) at the New York Democratic convention Thursday. She first transferred the deeper problem to her opponents, as a skilled leftist artfully does.

Hillary Clinton: "To lose a shared sense of truth, facts and reality itself. And I know many of us hoped that defeating Trump would start to heal our divisions."

She ignored the violence and destruction of the summer 2020 riots but highlighted the so-called insurrection.

Clinton: "The Republican Party officially embraces violent insurrection."

She addressed accusations she spied on Trump and his campaign — saying they are part of a right-wing conspiracy.

Clinton: "Some new right-wing lie on Fox or Facebook."

Clinton (1998): "This vast right-wing conspiracy."

She even gave a subtle-but-clear warning to conservative media that her lawyers are listening.

Clinton: "They're getting awfully close to malice in their attacks."

And, of course, the crescendo of her speech targeted the Democrats' number one enemy: unborn children.

Clinton: "The right for women to make their own health care decisions!"

Trump took a jab at Hillary while defending himself against charges by New York attorney general Letitia James.

Donald Trump: "Crooked Hillary Clinton, one of the most corrupt politicians ever to run for president, can break into the White House, my apartment, buildings I own and my campaign."

Trump: "Such a nasty woman."

Trump has hinted he's open to running in 2024. If things go according to script, this could be the greatest rematch since Rocky Balboa vs. Apollo Creed.

Some good news for Hillary — a survey published by CNN this week found 51% of Democrat-leaning voters do not want to see Biden run for a second term. Only 45% said they'd support him in 2024.
