Pro-life Texans are celebrating a court decision prohibiting the dismemberment of living babies in the womb. Abortionists have fought hard for the past four years to block the Lone Star State from enacting a ban passed in 2017. Church Militant's Trey Blanton takes a deep dive into the aftermath.
The pro-life movement in Texas won a major victory last week in the U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. The full 15-member appellate court reheard the case after a three-member panel, consisting of two Clinton-appointed judges, favored abortionists in 2020.
Rebecca Parma, Texas Right to Life: "After four years of waiting, Texas can finally implement this ban. So this bans the dismemberment abortion procedure, which is where the preborn child is ripped apart, limb by limb, while their heart is still beating."
Planned Parenthood is currently "analyzing the decision" and considering "all legal options." Much of the decision-making process centers around how the conservative-majority Supreme Court will view the case.
Rebecca Parma: "What we would be asking the Supreme Court in that instance is, 'Is this dismemberment abortion procedure inhumane enough that it is worth legally prohibiting?'"
Pro-lifers view laws like the dismemberment ban as a means to protect the lives of child and mother but also as an opportunity to have a public discussion on the reality of abortion.
Rebecca Parma: "They hate that we call it 'dismemberment abortion,' because they say, 'That's not a medical term.' Well, that's what's happening. That's the reality of what's happening, and they hate it because it highlights the violence of abortion."
The Left used lies and spectacle to legalize and promote abortion. Pro-lifers are highlighting the dignity of life to save our nation's soul.
More than 40,000 Texas babies have been torn apart in the last 10 years owing to dismemberment abortions being permitted.
