The newest episode of Mic'd Up is here!
Evil is pervasive in the current age. One can hardly turn on the television or drive down the street without being bombarded by examples. Temptations to greed, envy, anger, and lust are around every corner and beyond every page scroll. The West today is a pagan wasteland of moral decadence and idolatry. What happened to the part of the world that used to be considered Christendom?

The errors that infect us began long ago with various heresies such as Arianism, Gnosticism and others. With the empowerment of the Church came greed and corruption in its ranks, paving the way for the Protestants to shatter the One True Faith, but at least they still worshipped Christ. The Enlightenment followed, convincing the Western world that they did not need Christ at all. Man could be good without God.
But through all of that, the Western world remained mostly Christian, and it was not until after World War II that the United States really began to slip into the moral decay we now face. So what happened? Why the sudden abandonment and disdain for God? Why is it that so many of the faithful are not only committing mortal sin, but denying those evils are even sins at all?
Our Lady gave the answer to that question to three Portuguese peasant children in 1917. Through miraculous visions, she gave specific instructions for the children themselves and for the Church as a whole.
She told them to pray the Holy Rosary every day for peace, to pray the "Oh my Jesus" prayer after each mystery, do penance for sinners and perform the Communion of Reparation of the first Saturday of five successive months (go to confession, receive Holy Communion, pray five decades of the Rosary, and keep her company for 15 minutes while meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary).
She also told them that Russia must be consecrated to her Immaculate Heart. If Russia were not consecrated to her Immaculate Heart, she warned, there would be an even greater war (WWII) and Russia's errors would infect the entire world. Considering that Our Lady appeared to the children the same year as the Bolshevik Revolution, most agree that the errors Our Lady was referring to were the errors of communism.
While the children obeyed the commands of the Blessed Virgin, the Church, unfortunately, did not. The faithful did not do the penance required or the reparations on the first five Saturdays, nor did the Church dedicate Russia to her Immaculate Heart — at least, not until 1984, when Pope St. John Paul II finally carried out this command. The Berlin Wall came down just five years later and the Soviet Union collapsed soon after that. Unfortunately, in the years between 1917 and 1984, the errors of Russia had already escaped and infiltrated the world, including the Church.

The Devil has unleashed hordes of evil forces over the centuries in an attempt to destroy Christ's Church, but none have had the success of communism. Communists have not only waged a physical war against the Church, but have also waged a spiritual and moral war. The Devil has convinced the communists that they are morally superior to the intolerant, violent and judgmental God of the Bible. He has convinced them that they can create a better world than God did. The communists believe they will create a sexually liberated world of tolerance and equality, devoid of the burdens of objective truth and free from human suffering through death and destruction of the old ways.
The Devil has convinced many within the Church itself that this anti-Christian ideology isn't anti-Christian at all but conforms to the teachings of Christ. Some even echo the blasphemy that if Jesus were alive today He would be a communist, as if God incarnate needed Karl Marx to define His ideology.
Communism is completely antithetical to Christianity. It is premised on the lie that man can eliminate suffering, whereas Christ taught us to embrace suffering. Communists actually create more suffering for others in their quixotic quest to eliminate it, while Christians reduce suffering in others by taking on suffering themselves. Communism is driven by greed, envy and a narcissistic drive to dominate others. Christianity is driven by faith, hope and a love that humbles Christians to serve others.
Unfortunately, we are watching the communist revolution take place in real time in America and the Church, and we seem powerless to stop it. The communists control the media, the schools, the culture, the corporations, a sizable portion of the Church, and much of the government. So should we give up hope? Of course not, because what the Communists definitely do not control is Jesus Christ, and all of our hope lies in Him.
We are in a fight for the soul of the country and the Church, but we have the greatest weapons on our side. At Fatima, Our Lady explained exactly how to use them. We should pray the Holy Rosary, perform acts of penance, and perform the Communion of Reparation on five first Saturdays. If God chooses to save us from this great evil, he will do it through the Rosary, but we need to pray it and pray it humbly. For if we humble ourselves and pray, and seek God's presence and turn from our evil ways, He will hear us from Heaven and pardon our sins and revive our land.
On Aug. 28, a new movie about the miracles of Fatima will be released. Hopefully the faithful will learn from this amazing story that the only way to heal our world is to turn back to God. For as Cdl. Joseph Ratzinger stated in his "Message of Fatima," "prayer is more powerful than bullets and faith more powerful than armies."
