The number of so-called gays in America is around 7%. Despite the small number, they continue to clobber conservative opponents in today's culture war. In tonight's In-Depth Report, Church Militant's Kim Tisor looks at how homosexuals are winning a battle against an iconic corporation that's gone woke.
Disney is creating a whole new world where the LGBT community calls the shots. Dozens of pride flag–flying Disney workers staged a walkout Tuesday, demanding Disney do more to support the LGBT community. This came one day after Walt Disney Company's CEO, Bob Chapek, promised the once family-friendly entertainment company would provide more "LGBT content for kids." His peace offering was meant to pacify woke workers, who decry Chapek as slow to condemn Florida's Parental Rights in Education bill, introduced earlier this year.
Bob Chapek, CEO, Walt Disney Corporation: "I called Gov. DeSantis this morning to express our disappointment and concern that if legislation becomes law, it could be used to unfairly target gay, lesbian, non-binary and transgender kids and families."
Governor Ron DeSantis recently vowed to sign the bill, dishonestly labeled by the alphabet mafia as the "Don't Say Gay" bill. The bill never mentions gay; rather, it bans teachers from indoctrinating young students with inappropriate lessons on sexual orientation or gender identity.
Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla.: "The chance that I am going to back down from my commitment to students and back down from my commitment to parents' rights, simply because of fraudulent media narratives or pressure from woke corporations, the chances of that are zero."
Parents and conservatives are expressing on social media their disappointment with Disney's pro-LGBT agenda. One adult declared, "You've made everything less magical and everything gay."
Sadly, Disney's kowtowing to woke culture in media geared for kids is hardly a new phenomenon. Gay characters and the celebration of so-called same-sex marriage is now commonplace in shows targeting children as young as three. Sesame Street, last summer, introduced a girl with two daddies. According to the gay watchdog group GLAAD, there's a record number of LGBT characters in media, and the number is increasing as militant pro-LGBT activists seemingly get what they wish.
Last week, four Disney employees were arrested as part of a Florida human trafficking bust called "Operation March Sadness 2." The "Happiest Place on Earth" is quickly becoming anything but.
