Two weeks after the D.C. March for Life, mainstream media are finally covering an incident of religious discrimination against Catholic students.
In tonight's In-Depth Report, Church Militant's Aidan O'Connor takes a closer look at the media's double standard.
Once again, Catholic school students were confronted while at the nation's capitol for the March for Life.
This time, however, the fake news media establishment ignored the story for weeks.
In January, a group of Catholic students who had participated in the March for Life in Washington, D.C., were driven out of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum for wearing pro-life hats.
Patrick Murphy, pro-life student: "At this time, we're addressed by two women in all black — presumably security guards — and they tell us indirectly, and they say, 'All people wearing a pro-life hat, take it off.' And immediately we're confused."
The blue hats bore the message "Rosary Pro-life."
One student told the female security guards the hats were used for identification to keep the group together.
After heading for the exit, the group was accosted by a man, who claimed the students were in trouble for not removing the hats.
Student Patrick Murphy told the man that "this is a violation of our First Amendment right. This is a government-funded building. How are we paying for this with our taxes and I'm not allowed to wear this hat?"
The man claimed the building was a so-called neutral zone and that their rights didn't apply.
Soon after the incident, the Museum issued a statement: "Asking visitors to remove hats and clothing is not in keeping with our policies or protocols. We provided immediate training to prevent a reoccurrence of this kind of incident."
The American Center for Law and Justice warns that legal action is imminent.
All this has been virtually ignored by much of the corporate media, who in 2019, pounced with prejudice on the Covington Catholic High School students for alleged bigotry.
At the center of the media firestorm was student Nick Sandmann.
Leftists quickly branded Sandmann a white supremacist, and the school had to cancel activities due to a wave of death threats.
Homosexualist Bp. John Stowe of the neighboring Catholic diocese of Lexington also blasted the students.
Despite the fake news and vitriol, Sandmann was vindicated, and he sued for defamation CNN, NBC and other media outfits.
Now, another group of Catholic pro-lifers has been wrongfully driven from a taxpayer-funded building, and the Left's so-called journalists are nowhere in sight.
Over the last few years, a global survey on media trust found America ranked last in the developed world.
