The enemies of the Catholic Church are working day and night, dumping billions of dollars into making sin a way of life.
One of the most prominent is George Soros, a Hungarian–American Jew with a net worth of over $26 billion. Since 1979 he has donated over $11 billion of his personal fortune towards progressive political ideals that oppose Church teaching and natural moral law.
His organization, the Open Society Foundation (OSF), maintains to have spent over $13 billion since 1983 and is budgeted to spend nearly $100 million in 2016.
A look at the over 200 organizations that are funded directly or indirectly by Soros himself or the OSF shows where some of his billions go.
Two self-proclaimed Catholic organizations, Catholics for Choice (CFC) and Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good (CACB), directly promote ideas contrary to Church teaching. Catholics for Choice promotes feminist ideology and unlimited abortion on demand, and CACB promotes liberal-socialist candidates, social causes, and legislation among Catholics.
Soros promotes organizations pushing abortion all over the world, especially the Center for Reproductive Rights, EMILY's List, Planned Parenthood, NARAL Pro-Choice America, and the National Abortion Federation. He also sinks money into organizations promoting LGBT activism, racism, and so-called immigration reform.
It was recently reported the OSF is making significant efforts to legalize abortion in Ireland. "With one of the most restrictive abortion laws in the world, a win there could impact other strongly Catholic countries in Europe, such as Poland, and provide much needed proof that change is possible, even in highly conservative places."
A newly discovered OSF memo reveals, among many things, an attempted "buy-in of individual bishops to more publicly voice support of economic and racial justice messages in order to begin to create a critical mass of bishops who are aligned with the Pope."
Other people shoveling cash into the same liberal-socialist agendas include Michael Bloomberg, Warren Buffett and George Soros' son, Jonathan. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, worth about $43 billion, and the Ford Foundation, worth nearly $12 billion, fund abortion, contraception and sterilization all over the world. For instance, both foundations donate significant amounts of money yearly to Planned Parenthood.
Soros and others are known to give millions of dollars per year to legal organizations that push their agendas in United States courts. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has two non-profit organizations that, in 2014, had a combined revenue of over $100 million. Following the ACLU is the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) with a yearly revenue of about $54 million.
Both organizations spend significant resources defending, among other things, pro-abortion and pro-LGBT cases.
At the same time Catholics and Protestant Christians caught in legal wranglings with the ACLU and SPLC must depend on smaller organizations to defend them in court. Several legal advocacy organizations — some Catholic, like the Thomas More Law Center, the Alliance Defending Freedom and the Becket Fund — have a combined yearly revenue of just over $16 million, a fraction of the financial resources available to the ACLU and the SPLC.
