A priest popular for his devotion to Our Lady of Fatima has died.

Father Nicholas Gruner, founder and director of the Fatima Center, dedicated to the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima, passed away from a heart attack last night at the age of 72.

He was known for his constant work promoting the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, which he believed had not yet been done.

Father Gruner's life wasn't free from controversy, however, as he was suspended a divinis in 1996 for insubordination to his bishop. Gruner, on the other hand, claimed the suspension to be invalid.

One thing wasn't controversial, though, and that was his love for Our Lady. Please pray for the repose of his soul.
