DETROIT (ChurchMilitant.com) - An undercover video released Monday by the pro-life group Live Action reveals that only five Planned Parenthood facilities out of 97 provide prenatal care — in spite of the fact that the abortion giant's CEO and other spokeswomen continually tout its "prenatal" services.
Lila Rose, founder of Live Action and a devout Catholic, said, "Planned Parenthood (PP) is misleading the public. Its own employees say that its focus is providing abortions, not women's health care."
Following the growing attention, The New York Times released a hit piece on Live Action Tuesday morning to try to discredit the video. The article claims, "Planned Parenthood has long been under attack by anti-abortion groups and members of the Republican Party."
The article further quoted a spokesperson from Planned Parenthood who was allowed to defend the pro-abortion organization. "This is obviously part of a continued campaign to try to discredit us even though investigation after investigation found no wrongdoing in any of our health centers."
The video revealed these responses from Planned Parenthood workers:
"Planned Parenthood offers abortions, so they don't offer prenatal care."
"No, we don't do prenatal services. I mean, it's called Planned Parenthood, I know it's kind of deceiving."
"No, see, we don't see pregnant women as a way of giving prenatal care, we see pregnant women, um, you know, if they are considering other options."
A spokesman for Live Action provided Church Militant with these responses from Lila Rose: "Using deceptive and discredited attacks against Live Action does not change the fact that prenatal care is virtually nonexistent at Planned Parenthood," she said.
"Planned Parenthood committed 323,999 abortions, 30.6 percent of all U.S. abortions," she continued. "There is a startling contrast between Planned Parenthood's false public relations campaign and the actual services they provide."
