Masks are now mandatory nationwide when traveling.
This is based on an order from the Centers for Disease Control, or CDC, and Prevention Department of Health and Human Services, or HHS.
Notice and Order: "Persons must wear masks over the mouth and nose when traveling on conveyances, into and within the United States" and "transportation hubs."
The order applies to travel by plane, train, subway, buses, taxis and even when using Uber and Lyft.
Masks are also required at airports, bus terminals, train stations and subway stations.
The mandate allows for several exceptions, including eating, drinking, or taking medication, but only for "brief periods."
Left-leaning Forbes ran the following headline, "CDC — No Longer Constrained By Trump — Issues Order That Makes Not Wearing A Mask On Public Transportation A Federal Crime."
Some think the new order is a good thing.
But others are resisting, which, in some cases, leads to confrontation.
The mandate states enforcement will be by the "Transportation Security Administration, under appropriate statutory and regulatory authorities," adding it "shall be further enforced by other federal authorities, and may be enforced by cooperating state and local authorities."
This mandate comes in the wake of talk about wearing two masks, one on top of the other.
Many on social media are speculating Biden and organizations like the CDC will try to enforce even that.
