A common defense by pro-abort media is that a hefty majority of Americans do not want to see the court rulings that legalized infanticide overturned. Church Militant's Joseph Enders has more on the media's biased, pro-death coverage.

For nearly 50 years, media coverage about abortion has been almost exclusively skewed to support the continuing slaughter of the unborn, and it's misleading the public. Following the Texas pro-life "heartbeat bill" signed into law by Gov. Greg Abbott in May, lapdog media has even ramped up this deceptive language.

NBC: "There's been nearly two weeks since the highly restrictive abortion law took effect."

CNN: "A seismic shift on abortion rights."

ABC: "A controversial Texas law that would ban most abortions."

"Controversial," "abortion rights," "highly restrictive" — mainstream media won't use words like "life-saving," "pro-life" or "protective" to describe the Texas law and others like it. In fact, the Associated Press even set pro-abortion style standards to push the Culture of Death agenda. It requires writers to "use 'anti-abortion' instead of 'pro-life,' and 'pro-abortion rights' instead of 'pro-abortion' or 'pro-choice.'" This language helps drive the narrative, and it's working.

A November ABC News/Washington Post poll found 60% of Americans say Roe v. Wade should be upheld; only 27% believe it should be overturned. The numbers are even more dire for U.S. Catholics: In 2019, Pew Research found 68% said Roe should not be overturned, while only 28% said it should be overturned.

And when Republicans make strong statements against abortion, corporate media is nowhere to be found. One exception is former vice president Mike Pence, who, on Monday, drew some media buzz with his statements against Roe v. Wade.

Mike Pence: "I came here today to speak about right and wrong. To say life is a human right and urge the Supreme Court of the United States to choose life."

But will his words fall on deaf ears? The U.S. bishops' conference is remaining silent as the most important abortion case since Roe v. Wade is being debated in the Supreme Court today. Meanwhile, the media is showing no sign of letting up on its pro-abortion, pro-death coverage. The USCCB has never held a single national collection for any pro-life effort ever.
