When discussing the morality of deviant sexuality, people often carelessly treat the issue as a matter of simple preference. In doing so, they ignore the deeper problem: life outside the bedroom. The transsexual lifestyle is one on the margins of society. Before his "big day," a transsexual will more often than not have undergone a lifetime of confusion and psychological trauma. After "leaving" their one gender, they never truly come into the other, leaving them trapped between the two.
It's a life of isolation, chemical abuse and, often, suicide. Job opportunities are sparse, and the only real community they can call their own is other transsexuals. The ugly truth behind the Transsexual Rights movement is that while transsexuals are surrounded and applauded by activists on the day of their surgery, they are afterwards left to die alone.
