Old heresies never die. Cardinal Donald Wuerl has long failed to enforce canon 915, which mandates that public mortal sinners (such as pro-abortion politicians) may not receive Holy Communion. At Synod 2015, he had the opportunity to push his agenda — and push it hard.

But is this just pure disobedience? Or is it something deeper? Cardinal Wuerl channels the Gnostics of old, separating the state of our souls from our bodies. Instead of two deities, one good and one evil, Cdl. Wuerl separates law from belief. Then he subordinates law to belief, saying the law does not apply as long as you believe you are doing the right thing. Cardinal Wuerl seeks to depose Divine Law and create a tyranny of the conscience.

In this episode of "Mic'd Up," Michael Voris dives more deeply into the subject.
