NEW YORK (ChurchMilitant.com) - New York City's health system is leading the Culture of Death as the nation's first city to offer virtual abortion on demand.

NYC Health + Hospitals, the nonprofit organization that operates the city's public hospitals, and Mayor Eric Adams recently launched the virtual abortion initiative through "Virtual ExpressCare." 

How It Works

Starting this week, abortion-minded pregnant mothers in New York City can schedule a Virtual ExpressCare session with a state-licensed "healthcare expert" for abortion assessment and counseling. 

Abortion-minded mothers who meet the criteria can receive within days a medication abortion kit at their city address.

Though available daily, the program requires pregnant mothers to affirm they will be in New York City when the abortion drugs are administered. Any mailed requests for the drugs must be sent to a New York City address. 

The drugs are offered up to 10 weeks into an unborn child's development.

Adams' Agenda 

Mayor Adams associates this move with the city's stance against the Supreme Court's 2022 Roe v. Wade reversal. 

Furthermore, in November 2022, Adams unveiled an "Abortion Access Hub" that, as of June, linked nearly 2,000 callers with city abortionists. He also ratified legislation allowing the city's health department to be the nation's first to freely distribute abortion drugs at city-run facilities.

"Our city's Abortion Access Hub will ensure anyone seeking an abortion will be connected to licensed providers across the five boroughs, as well as continue to access other resources and support," Adams said.

"New York City will continue to respect, protect, and fulfill the core tenets of our fundamental right to choose, and will fight to ensure quality, affordable health care is accessible to all those who seek an abortion,” he added.
