Joe Biden is downplaying the biggest labor shortage since the Great Depression.
In its April report, the National Federation of Independent Business revealed 42% of small business owners reported that job openings couldn't be filled.
They claim that increased unemployment benefits are making it easier for people to stay home, rather than go out and work. In fact, job openings have spiked to 8.8 million — an all-time high.
Due to the massive media push to scare Americans into China virus lockdowns, a fair portion of the population is content to stay home and collect benefits.
One estimate shows state jobless benefits at $365 per week, with the federal government adding $300 on top of that. If we take that total of $665 and compare it to a 40-hour work week, it's equivalent to more than $16 an hour. Take that weekly salary for 52 weeks, you end up with $34,580 per year.
Throw Obamacare on top of that for health care, and some people are doing just fine without having to wake up, get dressed and plug away at some job for eight hours.
On Monday, Biden dismissed his trillion-dollar payouts as a problem, asserting "People will come back to work if they're paid a decent wage." He continued, "My expectation is that, as our economy comes back, these companies will provide fair wages and safe work environments. And if they do, they'll find plenty of workers."
Another problem with the massive bailouts is that the U.S. government doesn't actually have the money to give to people. In reality, the government doesn't have any money; it's the taxpayers who fund the government.
But the government is overextending by promising more money than it actually has. So the Federal Reserve runs its printing presses day and night to cover it. The more that happens, the more worthless American currency becomes.
But Joe Biden, the Democrats, Republicans and millions of Americans don't seem to care. It will take a great tragedy to wake up so many people. But by then it might be too late.
