Resistance pits 'Our Queen against their queen'

RALEIGH, N.C. ( - A Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH) event in North Carolina met with peaceful resistance from five Catholic organizations on Sunday.

"It was a day of spiritual warfare, in a sense, pitting Mary our Queen against their queen," one participant, who preferred to remain anonymous, told Church Militant.

Roughly thirty Catholics, including one priest, from the five organizations held signs and prayed outside of Medicine Mama's Farmacy [sic] in Raleigh, North Carolina, where the event was held.

The event was hosted by the North Carolina chapter of Free Mom Hugs, "a registered non-profit organization made up of parents and allies who love the LGBTQ+ community unconditionally and are working toward full affirmation and equality for all."

The drag queen reader, Amazing Grace, is a performer at Legends Nightclub Complex (LNC). The LNC Facebook page is filled with images of men provocatively posing in skimpy underwear with the camera angle concealing their genitalia and scantily dressed drag queens. 

About fifteen minutes before the DQSH, someone from Medicine Mama's Farmacy approached the group while the priest present was blessing Miraculous Medals and investing some present with the medal.

The group was told the parking lot owner would let them use the parking lot if they were not protesting, but they would have to stand on the sidewalk otherwise. 

The group moved to the sidewalk to ensure passers could read the signs and to pray peacefully, reciting fifteen decades of the Rosary.

One of the signs made by Tradition, Family and Property (TFP) read, "Dear God: Let NOT the little children be perverted by Drag Queen story hours!" 

In a TFP article titled "The Future Belongs to Those Who Oppose Drag Queen Story Hours," John Horvat II explains how abandoning natural law leads to a tyrannical anti-natural law:

The alternative is the coming tyranny. The next aberrations beyond the story hours will soon be upon us. When modernity abandoned natural law, it enthroned a kind of anti-natural law. It replaced the constraints of human nature with the ever-expanding expressions of freedom. This new anti-natural law gives free rein to Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy's fantasy world where each has the right to define one's own concept of existence, of meaning, of the universe and of the mystery of human life. Indeed, when the insatiable human passions rule, they prove to be the greatest of tyrants.

If conservatives are to win the battle for America's future, the debate needs to be reframed in these terms of right and wrong, good and evil. Those who play by the rules of the old liberal framework of moral relativism are doomed to failure since they must accept everything in the name of disordered liberty. Indeed, the future belongs to those who are not afraid to proclaim the truth: Drag Queen Story Hours are wrong.

Medicine Mama's Farmacy is a "premier purveyor of the highest quality NC-grown and NC-made CBD products," that is, cannabidiol, the second most prevalent of the active ingredients of marijuana.

The business has a history of holding DQSHs.
