KRAKOW, Poland (ChurchMilitant.com) - Polish Catholics inundated the archbishop of Krakow with over 55,000 signatures to show their support in the wake of fierce leftist attacks on the archbishop for linking the LGBT movement to communism.

Sławomir Olejniczak, president of the Fr. Piotr Skarga Association of Christian Culture (FPSACC), presented Abp. Marek Jędraszewski of the archdiocese of Krakow with a book containing 55,000 signatures of individuals expressing their support.

Signatories wished to show Jędraszewski that they support him against the criticism he has received from leftist politicians, journalists and individuals for comparing the LGBT movement to neo-Marxism.

That leftist criticism has been aggressive and sometimes violent, as in the case of the drag queen, Mariolkaa Rebell, who simulated Jędraszewski's murder using a blow-up doll during the Mr. Gay 2019 competition at the Punto Punto Club in Poznań, Poland, Aug. 10.

Jędraszewski's comparison of the LGBT movement to neo-Marxism came in a homily during a Mass commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising: "Thankfully, the red plague [communism] isn't stalking our land anymore, which doesn't mean the new one hasn't arrived, trying to conquer our souls, our heart and our minds. Not Marxist or Bolshevik, but born from the same spirit, Neomarxist. Not red, but rainbow [LGBT]."

The FPSACC launched the initiative for signatures, "Stand firmly behind Archbishop Jędraszewski," on their website.

The letter to Jędraszewski signed by over 55,000 supporters expressed pride in the archbishop for preaching the truth:

Venerable Archbishop!

I would like to thank the Archbishop for his wonderful pastoral attitude! The words of truth spoken during the sermon on the 75th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising fully reflect the situation in which Poland is now.

Increasingly, we are witnessing ruthless attacks from the LGBT lobby. This environment mocks our holy faith and wants to destroy the Catholic Church. We see clearly that the LGBT ideology is openly seeking to break up the Polish family and [bring about] the depravation of children and young people.

Moreover, gender leaders and other communities promoting homosexuality are so fiercely determined that they will stop at nothing to achieve their dangerous demands. This is demonstrated, among others, by the enormous wave of hatred directed at the Archbishop.

The attitude of the Archbishop — who despite the false attacks — calls a dangerous ideology by name and does not condemn anyone personally — is for me an uplifting example and gives me strength to continue to follow Christ.

I am proud of such a Shepherd! I am proud of the Defender of the Holy Catholic Faith!

Archbishop, please do not give up, do not succumb to pressure from political correctness.

Catholics will always stand by Shepherds preaching the Truth!
