LOS ANGELES, July 14, 2015 (ChurchMilitant.com) - Abortion conglomerate Planned Parenthood has been exposed on video illegally selling body parts and organs obtained during outlawed partial-birth abortion procedures.

In a conversation dated July 25, 2014, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, senior director of medical services at Planned Parenthood, met with investigators from the Center for Medical Progress posing as buyers from a human biologics company. The undercover investigation, conducted by the Center for Medical Progress, shows a video (shown above) in which Dr. Nucatola, in her own words, states that Planned Parenthood does sell intact fetal body parts for profit. Every provider has had patients who want to donate their tissue, and they absolutely want to accommodate them. They just want to do it in a way that is not perceived as, "This clinic is selling tissue; this clinic is making money off of this." I know in the Planned Parenthood world they're very, very sensitive to that. And before an affiliate is gonna' do that, they need to, obviously, they're not — some might do it for free — but they want to come to a number that doesn't look like they're making money.

Planned Parenthood sells various baby parts, from liver to hearts to muscle tissue, for a multiude of purposes. The going price? Between $30 to $100 "per specimen."

While casually sipping wine and enjoying a fresh salad, Dr. Nucatola also can be heard discussing in detail the methods used to obtain these organs so they can be sold for profit, which involves abortionists performing it "under ultrasound guidance, so they'll know where they're putting their forceps."

The kind of rate-limiting step of the procedure is the calvarium, the head is basically the biggest part. Most of the other stuff can come out intact. It's very rare to have a patient that doesn't have enough dilation to evacuate all the other parts.

So then you're just kind of cognizant of where you put your graspers, you try to intentionally go above and below the thorax, so that, you know, we've been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I’m not gonna' crush that part, I'm going to basically crush below, I'm gonna' crush above, and I'm gonna see if I can get it all intact.

And with the calvarium [head], in general, some people will actually try to change the presentation so that it's not vertex [head first], because when it's vertex presentation, you never have enough dilation at the beginning of the case, unless you have real, huge amount of dilation to deliver an intact calvarium. So if you do it starting from the breech [feet first] presentation, there's dilation that happens as the case goes on, and often, the last, you can evacuate an intact calvarium at the end.

According to a diagram provided in the video, the method of abortion Nucatola described above — where the abortionists uses ultrasound guidance to convert the fetus to breech position and extract the intact fetus up to the head — is identical to an illegal partial-birth abortion. The method of abortion she describes on video also appears to violate federal law.

Doctor Nucatola said she has "a huddle at the beginning of the day" to determine what fetal body parts consumers are requesting, and which patients that day will have babies from which they will be able to harvest them. Then Planned Parenthood abortionists tailor the procedure to assure they do not destroy the organs, maximizing profitability.

Though President George W. Bush signed a law outlawing partial-birth abortion in 2003 — a federal felony punishable by two years in prison and a fine of $250,000 — Dr. Nucatola expressed no hesitation breaking it, because they have found ways skirt around it.

"The federal abortion ban is a law, and laws are up to interpretation," she said. "So, if I say on day one that I don't intend to do this, what ultimately happens doesn't matter."

"At the national office, we have a Litigation and Law Department which just really doesn't want us to be the middle people for this issue right now," she says. "But I will tell you that behind closed doors these conversations are happening with the affiliates."

To prove that this operation of selling baby parts goes all the way to the top at Planned Parenthood, LiveAction released a separate video showing investigators meeting with Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards, where they explicitly thank her for all the wonderful help that Dr. Nucatola has been in helping them obtain their product.

"Oh good," Richards replies. "Great. She's amazing."

"Planned Parenthood's criminal conspiracy to make money off of aborted baby parts reaches to the very highest levels of their organization," said Project Lead David Daleiden. "Elected officials must listen to the public outcry for Planned Parenthood to be held accountable to the law and for our tax dollars to stop underwriting this barbaric abortion business."

In the wake of the video's release, pro-life leaders across the country have been calling on Congress to investigate.

"This video provides a shocking reality check about the grisly, inhumane business model of Planned Parenthood," said Dr. Charmaine Yoest, president and CEO of Americans United for Life. "Under Cecile Richards' leadership, breast screenings are down, abortions are up and profits are up, as even the bodies of the unborn become something else for her to sell. We call for an immediate congressional investigation into these alleged atrocities. And just as important, the time is now to defund Planned Parenthood. The American taxpayer should not be in business with such callous profiteers."
