A key moment in Hillary Clinton's presidential bid came when WikiLeaks revealed that Clinton's campaign chairman, John Podesta, had been using false Catholic groups to subvert the Church for political gain.
Church Militant reported last October on a 2012 email exchange between Sandy Newman, president of Voices for Progress, and John Podesta, founder of Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, funed by leftist billionaire George Soros. Newman wrote:
There needs to be a Catholic Spring, in which Catholics themselves demand the end of a Middle Ages dictatorship and the beginning of a little Democracy and respect for gender equality in the Catholic Church. ... I have not thought at all about how one would 'plant the seeds of the revolution' or who would plant them.
To this email, Podesta answered, "We created Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good to organize for a moment like this."
Prior to this revelation, Catholics had been backing Clinton in spite of her views on expanding abortion. Catholics didn't like the idea of being played, however, and shortly afterward swung over to the Trump camp. The strong reaction to the release of these emails is clearly seen when Podesta appeared in an interview a few days later and people in the crowd repeatedly yelled, "I read your emails, Podesta!"
The misdeeds of sinners will find them out, as Our Lord in Luke 12:1–3 warned:
Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed: nor hidden, that shall not be known. For whatsoever things you have spoken in darkness, shall be published in the light: and that which you have spoken in the ear in the chambers, shall be preached on the housetops.
