Since its inception, Church Militant has been following the pro-life movement, detailing local skirmishes and national victories. One of the "generals" in the abortion wars is Dr. Monica Miller, director of Citizens for a Pro-life Society.
Church Militant's Kristine Christlieb profiles this passionate Catholic who has used her God-given talents in defense of human life.
Monica Miller, director, Citizens for a Pro-life Society: "The police officer said, 'Don't you know that there are homicides happening in the city?' And I said, 'Officer, what do you think is happening here?'"
Grand Rapids, Michigan, May 2020 — Michigan is in lockdown but the state's restrictions don't stop Monica Miller. Given the circumstances, Red Rose Rescuers made the decision not to enter the abortuary lobby as normal.
Instead, they stopped cars entering the abortuary parking lot and presented red roses to the abortion-minded mothers with messages encouraging them to turn back. Miller and several others were arrested that day and subsequently found not guilty.
In a 2019 red-rose rescue, Miller was on the scene with four pro-life advocates who also were arrested. In a trial last week, all four were found guilty of two misdemeanors and one felony charge.
Miller: "In this trial, unborn children were not recognized as persons who had a right to be defended."
In a commentary piece for today's edition of Crisis Magazine, Miller reveals it was the 1988 incineration of pre-born infant remains that ignited her advocacy. After 46 years of pro-life work, Miller's energy isn't flagging.
Miller: "We are going to win."
Church Militant has been following this pro-life advocate, literally, through trials and will continue to follow her into this next phase of the abortion wars.
Miller is one of the featured panelists at Church Militant's upcoming Call to Action Convention in August.
