DETROIT (ChurchMilitant.com) - A recent study is exposing the wealthy white males responsible for funding the transgender agenda.

In a piece published Tuesday in The Federalist, artist and environmental activist Jennifer Bilek complained about the questionable origins of the funding for LGBT activism, especially the 'T' (meaning transgenderism). Bilek is a New York City artist known for her oil portraits.

Bilek reported that much of the money behind transgenderism comes from white, male billionaires like the infamous George Soros. This is ironic, given leftists' self-image as champions of minorities and the poor and their frequent complaining about "male privilege" and "white privilege."

Bilek writes, "As an environmental activist who was de-platformed from a speaking venue by trans activists, in 2013 I developed curiosity about the power of this group to force this development."

She noted that men who identify as women are spearheading pro-transgender activism, while gender-confused women who claim to be men "seem silent and invisible." The environmental activist commented, "I have watched as all-women's safe spaces, universities and sports opened their doors to any man who chose to identify as a woman."

These pro-transgender moves, Bilek feels, victimize women and are anti-feminist. She argues that such radical gender-bending denies women the chance to cite "male privilege," since transgenderism essentially undermines the male-female distinction.

She writes elsewhere in the article, "This ideology is being promoted as a civil rights issue by wealthy, white men with enormous influence who stand to personally benefit from their political activities."

The article lists several of the privileged people responsible for funding trans activism:

These include but are not limited to Jennifer Pritzker (a male who identifies as transgender); George Soros; Martine Rothblatt (a male who identifies as transgender and transhumanist); Tim Gill (a gay man); Drummond Pike; Warren and Peter Buffett; Jon Stryker (a gay man); Mark Bonham (a gay man); and Ric Weiland (a deceased gay man whose philanthropy is still LGBT-oriented). Most of these billionaires fund the transgender lobby and organizations through their own organizations, including corporations.

"These men and others," the piece states, "including pharmaceutical companies and the U.S. government, are sending millions of dollars to LGBT causes."

Pharmaceutical giants, Bilek argues, are backing transgenderism because they hope to profit off gender-confused persons seeking hormone "therapy" or sex-change surgery.

"It seems obvious, now, to look at the money behind transgenderism," she writes. "Many new markets have opened because of it."

Bilek notes, "The first gender clinic for children opened in Boston in 2007. In the past 10 years, more than 30 clinics for children with purported gender dysphoria have arisen in the United States alone, the largest serving 725 patients."

Bilek's Twitter account reveals that she seeks to actively combat transgenderism. In one instance, she commented on a transgender principal at a Boston school, "This has nothing to do with LGB or diversity! This is a grown-a** man imposing his sexual fetish on children because it makes HIM feel better. He is an extreme narcissist, and parents must inform themselves and resist this in the children's schools."

She aligns with the political Left on issues such as climate change, gun control, feminism and even homosexuality. But she is also an outspoken opponent of both transgenderism and pornography. She believes that the porn industry degrades and abuses women and that young men addicted to porn should quit the habit if they want to have healthy relationships.

The articles Bilek shares on Twitter are an interesting mixture of MSNBC, feminist websites and LifeSiteNews. She counters transgenderism, especially when it is pushed onto children.

One tweet that Bilek retweeted reads, "#TransPrivilege is being a fully grown adult male taking your clothes off in the women's toilet but painting the 13-year-old girls in there as the aggressor for challenging you before running away."
