NEW YORK (ChurchMilitant.com) - A conservative Catholic movie star is fighting back against the leftist reign of censorship terror.
On Friday, actor James Woods declared his intention to sue the Democratic National Committee, after internal Twitter documents revealed the DNC specifically targeted him for his conservative views.
"I will be getting a lawyer," Woods told Tucker Carlson. "I will be suing the Democratic National Committee, no matter what. ... I am not going to take this sitting down. I think these people are vermin for doing this to other people."
On Monday, Woods announced that he would be leaving Twitter, explaining that social media is "decimating" free speech and intelligent debate. He signed off, "I have a wonderful life. I'm going to go enjoy it. God bless you all."
The internal Twitter documents, nicknamed the "Twitter Files," detail Democrats' use of Twitter censorship to target conservative journalists, thinkers, speakers and even meme makers on the social media platform.
Both Democrats and Republicans were permitted to submit censorship requests to Twitter, but it was up to Twitter employees to determine whether or not to act on requests or demands. With a substantial 96–99% of Twitter employees identifying as active Democrats, left-wing demands were almost always acted upon.
11. This system wasn't balanced. It was based on contacts. Because Twitter was and is overwhelmingly staffed by people of one political orientation, there were more channels, more ways to complain, open to the left (well, Democrats) than the right. https://t.co/sa1uVRNhuH pic.twitter.com/K1xmqQ0TrD

Among the most egregious of Twitter's censorship endeavors was one aimed at a New York Post exposé that detailed emails from Hunter Biden's laptop — emails that implicated his father, fake Catholic and then-presidential-contender Joe Biden, in international corruption.
Twitter moved swiftly to block the story. Links to the story were removed, and references to it or its contents were censored and marked as "unsafe" or as "misinformation." Twitter even blocked the story from direct messaging, which Taibbi explains was "a tool hitherto reserved for extreme cases, e.g. child pornography."
Just days ahead of the 2020 presidential election, the DNC flagged James Woods for posting about Hunter Biden's laptop and ordered his post be removed — and it was. The then-White House press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, was also locked out of her official account for sharing the story online.
This was by no means the first (or last) time that Woods was targeted for his outspoken conservative stances.
In June of this year, the University of Washington's Center for an Informed Public and the Krebs Stamos Group published an analysis of over 49 million tweets, along with a list of prominent Twitter users, that insisted Biden stole the 2020 election. While famous names like Jack Posobiec, James O'Keefe, Rudy Giuliani and Donald Trump were on the list, James Woods topped them all. The actor was effectively deemed public enemy number one by those who fear so-called threats to democracy.
In 2018, Woods was locked out of his Twitter account for posting a meme that suggested Democrats didn't want men to vote. Especially in light of the most recent midterm returns, the assertion is far from conspiracy, since single women skewed Democrat by an enormous margin.
Woods was nearly banned again that same year, for calling "satanic" the pro-abortion, pro-open borders, globalist billionaire George Soros.
Woods was locked out of his account again in 2020 for criticizing Florida Democrat Andrew Gillum. In 2018, Gillum ran against Catholic conservative Ron DeSantis for the state's governorship. DeSantis kept Florida safe and free during the so-called pandemic, and Woods simply noted how different Florida would be under Gillum's rule. Amusingly enough, Gillum was indicted on 21 felony counts earlier this year, including wire fraud and campaign fraud.
Even before becoming public enemy number one on Twitter, Woods claims he was blacklisted from Hollywood for his conservative politics. He explained, "While Liberals scream about the 50's blacklist, my [Republican] actor friends are terrified of losing their ability to provide for their families."
He was later dropped by his talent agent, ostensibly for those same conservative politics.
Woods argues that his announced lawsuit against the DNC will be on behalf of all Americans downtrodden by Democrats, Big Tech and the censorship regime.
"When they go around calling everyone, 'Oh, this one's a fascist.' You know who the fascists are? Scratch a liberal and you will find a fascist every time," Woods quipped.
Woods explained that countless Americans had been deplatformed, censored and shut out of the public discussion by leftist-controlled social media. According to Woods, his lawsuit would seek justice for the mass silencing of American voices.
