STOCKHOLM (ChurchMilitant.com) - The Swedish government is attempting to solve the rape epidemic perpetrated by Muslim migrants in their county with a sex guide book.

On Monday, the Swedish Ministry of Youth and Civil Affairs (MYCA) released a booklet to assist adults to communicate to migrants that rape is wrong. Lena Nyberg, MYCA director, said, "We have seen a great need for young people to get more knowledge and a great need among the adults to get help and support in how to talk about these issues."

The rape crisis in Sweden has grown exponentially since the influx of migrants. In March, Sweden's public records showed that 85 percent of all gang rapes or sexual assaults involving multiple attackers were committed by migrants.

Sweden is now called the "Rape Capital of the West" by the Gatestone Institute (GI), an international nonprofit policy council. The country experienced a large influx of Muslims in the 1970s after the country chose to become multicultural. The only country with more rapes per capita as of 2010 was Lesotho in Southern Africa. According to statistics provided by GI, the country has experienced a 1,472 percent increase in rapes since fostering immigration in 1975.

The country is responding with the sex guidebook titled, Youmo In Practice, that's supposed to teach young migrants about sex, health and gender so they understand that it's inappropriate to rape people. It focuses on the subject of consent and that women are allowed to say no. Nyberg said it's a difficult subject because migrants come from differing cultural backgrounds.

The booklet, which was made available Monday, is based on a website with similar information that was launched in April. According to the website, the goal is to reach "70,000 children who came to Sweden during the refugee crisis in 2015." According to reports, "Afghans, Iraqis and Syrians were the three most common nationalities among asylum seekers in 2015."

We have seen a great need for young people to get more knowledge.

The country has had a history of downplaying the number of rapes by committed by migrants. Sweden has refused for more than a decade to keep official statistics of the origin of such criminals. The Swedish government has reportedly established a track record of demonstrating sympathy for the rapists and have acquitted suspects who've made the claim that "the girl wanted to have sex" with multiple men. Additionally, the government has made excuses for the rapists which include:

  • Swedes are more prone to report crime
  • Laws have widened the definition of rape
  • Men react with rape to the increased equality between the sexes

The rape crisis doesn't only involve a drastic increase in men raping adult women, it's also a matter of multiple men gang raping boys. In the Swedish city of Uppsala last year, reports surfaced of five underage Afghani migrants, raping an Afghani boy at knifepoint for over an hour and filming the incident with smartphones.

According to MUCF, the website and book are tools for adults who try teaching young immigrants what they can and can't do regarding nonconsensual sex. The program is written in six languages and "presents information on health, sexuality, relationships and rights to young new arrivals."
