In 2011, President Barack Obama recognized Goya Foods for its achievements and for its longstanding commitment to the American Dream. At the time, Cision PR Newswire reported that Goya Foods' president Robert Unanue "introduced President Obama at a reception at the White House, saying he was 'honored and humbled' to be among the distinctive group gathered for the occasion."
During their meeting, Unanue and members of his family presented President Obama with Goya's commemorative book, If It's Goya, It Has To Be Good: 75 Years of History. In response, President Obama saluted Goya Foods, taking time to emphasize his gratitude to Hispanics for their valuable contributions to the United States.
Nine years later, the same Hispanic CEO of Goya, Bob Unanue, went to the White House as part of Trump's Hispanic Prosperity Initiative, met President Trump and praised his accomplishments by saying, "We're all truly blessed at the same time to have a leader like President Trump, who is a builder ... And so we have an incredible builder. And we pray. We pray for our leadership, our president and we pray for our country, that we will continue to prosper and to grow."
The Left was furious about Unanue's praise for Trump.
So you're allowed to compliment and praise a liberal Democrat president, but you're not allowed to do the same for a Republican president? Welcome to America under the intolerant-liberal cancel culture. The thought police, also known as the speech police, have now infiltrated the Hispanic community, especially through the liberal Spanish media.
We just celebrated "Independence Day" — it's time we stop our groupthink and start thinking as independent individuals, taking into account our Catholic-Christian faith, which militates for free speech. Unfortunately, all the mainstream Spanish media is hard Left. Orthodox conservative Hispanics, those who dissent from liberalism, are not allowed to express themselves on those networks.
Pope Benedict XVI once said, "We are moving towards a dictatorship of relativism which does not recognize anything as for certain and which has as its highest goal one's own ego and one's own desires."
Good has become evil and evil good — lies the truth and truth a lie. Only with the light of Christ can we navigate through the fog of moral relativism and the filthy air of a world gone mad with sin. For we are dying by suicide — moral and spiritual suicide — and the cancel culture is part of this Culture of Death.
Liberals want to tear down traditional values and replace them with secular, progressive values or 'godless values.' A progressive is someone who hates what we are and wants to be something different.
We are the most successful, stable, prosperous nation in the world, but they want to be different. The way they attempt to bring about change is to separate you from your heritage and traditions.
The don't-hurt-my-feelings climate in U.S. culture was started by these secular-humanist and moral-relativist snowflakes who are now resorting to violence.
Political correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical liberal minority. It was rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media that holds the proposition that truth is based on what's accepted by the progressive, liberal party line. To be politically incorrect is to harbor ideas that annoy the Left.
That's because the champions of political correctness have a totalitarian streak. People on the right don't invoke political correctness; they allow the free expression of ideas.
Bob Unanue's accomplishments as a minority — all the jobs he creates — should be celebrated, not vilified.
"And you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free" (John 8:32).
