Students for Life of America followed up the 49th annual March for Life with a full day of pro-life training. The potential for a post-Roe world has created an increased focus on increasing state-level activism. Church Militant's Trey Blanton highlights some of the experts.
Students for Life hosted a pro-life summit to empower young pro-lifers to go back to their states and continue the fight for life.
Kristan Hawkins, president, Students for Life of America: "We start off on campuses talking about the non-violent alternatives and resources that exist. Isn't there a better way? Isn't there something less extreme we can prescribe here?"
Vice President Mike Pence was a keynote speaker among experts in pro-life apologetics.
Trent Horn, host, Counsel of Trent: "They teach students how to perform abortions. The way that they learn how to do that is, you can see, some of the medical students will go outside, and their homework is they take a papaya, which is about the size of a uterus, and they practice vacuuming out its contents."
John Seago, with Texas Right to Life, provided an update on the Texas Heartbeat law.
John Seago, legislative director, Texas Right to Life: "We, in Texas, are actually enforcing a bill that is banning abortion before viability. That's been the debate with Dobbs, is, can states ban abortion before viability? But, in Texas, we're doing it."
Meanwhile, in Texas, abortion advocates threw smoke bombs at Texas Right to Life's "Boots on the Ground" event.
Back in D.C., Dr. Alveda King set the example for effecting change.
Dr. Alveda King, civil rights activist: "We've been working to abolish abortion, and I'm so excited to join all these young people, students and young adults and high school students, for life."
The final fight for civil rights will be for the unborn.
Over two dozen organizations partnered with Students for Life to provide resources to aid aspiring pro-life advocates.
