Investigative reporter and Church Militant correspondent George Neumayr is working to expose the Catholic "gay mafia" in the archdiocese of Washington, D.C.

In his Sept. 21 article in the American Spectator, Neumayr reports the result of his investigation into the gay connections with the National Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. — and the information is unsettling.

The report describes Msgr. Walter Rossi, the current rector of the Shrine, as a "gay mafioso" who is described by Neumayr's sources as being a homosexual.

Rossi was made rector of the Shrine in 2005 by homosexual abuser ex-Cdl. Theodore McCarrick — then archbishop of Washington, D.C. — and succeeded Msgr. Bransfield, now a bishop, who has credible allegations of homosexual abuse of seminarians and young adults hanging over his own head.

Speaking to various witnesses at Catholic University of America (CUA), Neumayr maintains a witness told him Rossi "shares a posh condo on the beach in Fort Lauderdale with a priest from Scranton."

Sources also tell Neumayr that Rossi had a sexual relationship with Matthew Riedlinger who, after his ordination, was removed from the priesthood after sending over 1,200 sexual texts to who he thought was a 16-year-old boy.

Even after Reidlinger was dismissed from the priesthood, Rossi prevailed upon Trenton Bp. David O'Connell — a former president of CUA — to cover up the reasons he was removed.

Neumayr also notes of Rossi, "Despite all of this jaw-dropping squalor, despite his status as a Mafioso for the criminal rapist McCarrick and the disgraced Donald Wuerl, is still hoping that Pope Francis will make him a bishop."

Despite all this, media have been largely ignoring this story, especially the Catholic Establishment media.
