It's time for committed Catholics to stop belly-aching and grousing in comboxes about the world going to Hell — which they are right about, by the way — and get down to brass tacks.

Following on the Supreme Court tragedy, we must realize that this has all happened — sodomy, abortion, contraception, the destruction of the civilization — because of Catholics, all of us, falling down on the job.

Pope St. Pius V said it best of all: "All the evil in the world is due to lukewarm Catholics."

Only the Catholic Church has the power to beat back evil. That's because evil begins in the realm of the supernatural and is ultimately a supernatural fight, as St. Paul tells us point blank. No man, no government, no human agency, no power on earth can defeat evil because spiritual beings are more powerful than human beings on our own.

Only with the assistance of grace, being in a state of grace, can a human being defeat a demon, and even then it is only through the agency of cooperating with the grace afforded. In order to cooperate with grace, a person must have sufficient understanding that there is grace, that he needs to cooperate with it, and the source of that grace.

This is impossible without some kind of knowledge of the Church, an intellectual understanding, a study of the Faith so that a commitment can be made, a relationship established, not built on emotions and feelings that the Church of Nice is always appealing to, but an actual commitment of the will.

This is why the Holy Spirit, speaking through the prophet Hosea says, "My people have been silent, because they had no knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will reject thee." Some translations read, "My people perish from lack of knowledge."

This is exactly why Church Militant and our sister organization have from our earliest days done everything we can to provide the teachings of the Faith so clearly with all of our premium programming: apologetics, catechesis, Church history, Scripture and so forth. It's why I personally studied for and received an ecclesiastical degree in theology from a pontifical university — to be able to impart the Faith in the clearest terms possible.

Church leaders, by their own repeated admissions, have failed spectacularly to teach the Faith. So it's why we here at this apostolate, as well as other apostolates, have assumed the duty through our baptisms and confirmations to help as many people as possible to learn about the Faith.

We have been saying for at least the last four years that that ruling was going to happen. Many in the Church of Nice scoffed at our prediction, but we stood fast, knowing it was coming. And when it came, we were again the only Catholic presence there. We stood in the midst of that cheering throng on the steps of the Supreme Court. We heard our own predictions repeated back right to our faces. This has all happened because Catholics are lukewarm, lacking sufficient knowledge, indifferent to the collapse of faith and morals all around them, unwilling to prepare for the coming persecution.

Church Militant told you years ago this was going to happen. We have pointed out various holy leaders like Cardinal Raymond Burke, Bishop Athanasius Schneider and others who have said a persecution is coming. We have traveled the world making every appeal we can to audiences everywhere to prepare for the coming persecution.
