WASHINGTON (ChurchMilitant.com) - It is being reported the unborn child of a 17-year-old illegal alien was aborted early in the morning of October 25. The baby was only 16 weeks old.
After the Trump administration attempted to block the abortion, a federal judge on Tuesday ordered the abortion to be carried out.
The Trump administration objected to the procedure because the girl known only as "Jane Doe," was being held at a federal facility in Texas and did not have a sponsor in the United States.
Reports indicate Doe had somehow acquired money for the abortion but needed a judge's permission since she is in the United States illegally and is a minor.
Facility personnel declined to drive her to an abortion mill, instead taking her to a crisis pregnancy center where a doctor showed her ultrasound images of her unborn child.
Despite seeing the images, Doe pressed for the abortion, and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) became involved.
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) tweeted:
Kristan Hawkins, a spokeswoman for Students for Life, commented, "It's the worst form of patriarchy to tell a young woman that without an abortion she can't accomplish great things, and we hope that the Trump Administration will continue to fight to protect the lives of all on U.S. soil."
While the Trump administration did not say the abortion could not happen, it directed that the girl, who is in federal custody, should according to the law have a sponsor in the United States or voluntarily leave the country.
It was six federal judges named by Barack Obama and Bill Clinton who claimed the girl had a constitutional right to an abortion despite not being an American citizen.
If things would have run their course, the minor would have had a sponsor by the end of October.
