DETROIT (ChurchMilitant.com) - In an interview posted Tuesday by the pro-life group Live Action, former Planned Parenthood workers say top management rewards clinics for meeting abortion quotas.
Former Planned Parenthood manager Sue Thayer and former nurse Marianne Anderson sat down with Lila Rose of Live Action, and said they were rewarded with pizza parties and coffee with top management for reaching abortion quotas.
"I felt like I was more of a salesman, sometimes, to sell abortions." Anderson added, "We were constantly told, 'You have quotas to meet to stay open.'"
Thayer said, "Every center had a goal for how many abortions were done, and centers that didn't do abortions like mine that were family planning clinics had a goal for the number of abortion referrals."
Thayer also told Live Action that Planned Parenthood uses scare tactics on women:
We would try to get the appointment scheduled for the abortion before they left our clinic. We would say things like, 'your pregnancy test, you visit today is x-number of dollars. How much are you gonna be able to pay towards that?' ... If they'd say, 'I'm not able to pay today,' then we would say something like, 'Well, if you can't pay 10 dollars today, how are you gonna take care of a baby?
This most recent video comes just two weeks after an undercover video released by Live Action reveals that only five Planned Parenthood facilities out of 97 provide actual prenatal care.
Live Action founder and devout Catholic Lila Rose said, "Planned Parenthood is misleading the public. Its own employees say that its focus is providing abortions not women's health care."
Rose has recently stated, "Planned Parenthood committed 323,999 abortions, 30.6 percent of all U.S. abortions." She continued, "There is a startling contrast between Planned Parenthood's false public relations campaign and the actual services they provide."
