 Fifty years of weak or nonexistent catechesis by American bishops have begotten Catholic-in-name-only politicians.

Joe Biden is a baptized, Rosary-clutching, Sunday-Mass-going Catholic. But for decades he's been using his lofty political positions to advance policies in direct contradiction to the Church.

By now, most people know Biden claims to personally oppose the murder of unborn children through abortion while insisting the decision to do so should be kept "between a woman and her doctor." Adding to his anti-Catholic stances are the so-called same-sex weddings he officiated while vice-president under Barack Obama and his ongoing support for transgender ideology.

But it's not just Biden who claims to be a good Catholic. Sodomy advocate Fr. James Martin balked at the term "fake Catholic" applied to Biden in 2020, claiming "Mr. Biden is a baptized Catholic. Thus, he is a Catholic."

This time, however, the blame for Biden being allowed to masquerade as a good Catholic is squarely at the feet of the current American bishops and their predecessors.

Prelates allowed Ted Kennedy to espouse his own "personally opposed" position on abortion and even gave him a Catholic funeral when he died.

In November, after the D.C. swamp handed Biden his presidential victory, Los Angeles archbishop Cdl. José Gomez admitted Biden's anti-Catholic beliefs — as parlayed into policy — present the Church with a "difficult and complex situation."

After that, the bishops established a commission to discuss the "problem" of Biden's presidency.

Last week, the head of the U.S. bishops' Committee on Pro-Life Activities, Abp. Joseph Naumann remarked, "It can create confusion. ... How can he say he's a devout Catholic and [yet] he's doing these things that are contrary to the Church's teaching?" 

The bishops weren't terribly concerned about the so-called Biden problem when he announced his run for the presidency in 2015. They didn't express any distress when he attached himself to the God-hating Democrat Party. Then, not a peep came from them when he secured the nomination of the party of sodomy, transgenderism and infanticide.

The bishops hate Joe Biden because they are not concerned for his eternal soul. They hate Catholics because they won't clarify the truth. These bishops hate the Church because they won't defend Her prerogatives. And they even show hatred for Christ by allowing His sacred Body and Blood to be sacrilegiously given to pro-abortion politicians like Biden.
