DETROIT (ChurchMilitant.com) - A popular doctor is sharing with his 8 million YouTube subscribers the side effects of the oral birth control pill. 

Chiropractor and dietary expert Dr. Eric Berg shared his informational video over the weekend, and hundreds of comments are pouring in describing people's bad experiences with this form of contraception.

He started by explaining, "There actually is no real estrogen or progesterone in a birth control pill. What you do have is a synthetic version."

This result, he says, is many side effects. Dr. Berg shares 14 of them, including heart attack, stroke, cancer, weight gain, depleted minerals and an altered gut and vaginal canal microbiome.

A 2016 report by ITV News shares the stories of four young ladies who died from blood clots caused by the pill. They developed clots in their legs, a condition known as deep vein thrombosis (DVT). They went to the doctor with symptoms, but the DVT wasn't discovered, and they were incorrectly diagnosed.

Late 21-year-old teaching assistant Fallan Kurek's DVT had moved to her lungs, causing pulmonary embolism. She complained about chest pains and feeling breathless. The doctors told her she was likely having a panic attack.

In 1999, the International Agency for Research on Cancer, a branch of the World Health Organization, studied and concluded "[c]ombined oral contraceptives are carcinogenic to humans (Group 1)." The Group 1 classification is used when there is "sufficient evidence" of carcinogenicity in humans. Other examples in that class include benzene, formaldehyde and asbestos — as well as smoking tobacco.

Altering Perception

A 2008 study found "women on the pill undergo a shift in preference toward men," because women's altered hormones lead them to desire more nurturing, effeminate types, rather than masculine traits. It relates, the researchers believed, to the scent or pheromones given off the body. 

One YouTuber disclosed this very situation she experienced. Julie Ventura shared, "I decided to go off of birth control, and just like cold turkey, cut it out of my life. And within a week, I could not stand my boyfriend." She added, "It was like a switch just flipped in my brain, and everything that I thought I liked about him I hated."

Causing Death

The pill is an abortifacient, meaning it causes death. The fake progesterone in the pill dries up blood vessels along the uterine wall so an embryo cannot implant. 

Pharmacists for Life International's FAQ page explains that embryos — which are already living human beings created at the moment of conception — are terminated because they cannot implant and pass from the mother's body through menses. 

"To stop conception occurring, that is, to stop sperm and ovum joining, is 'contraception.' ... The correct term to describe any interference with the pregnancy after conception has occurred is 'abortifacient' ... any drug or device that acts to end a pregnancy once it has begun," the FAQ emphasizes.

The pill needs to be taken every day at a fixed time, and many women don't do that. So, this creates a failure rate of 3–5%, meaning even some women taking the pill are successfully impregnated. 

The CDC reported nearly 65% of women age 15–49 were using contraception from 2015 to 2017 — with about 12% using the oral pill.
