WASHINGTON (ChurchMilitant.com) - On its 100th anniversary, the Trump administration is calling Communism "oppressive" and "incompatible with liberty, prosperity and the dignity of human life."
On November 7, the White House released a statement for the "National Day for the Victims of Communism," which marks the 100th anniversary since the Bolsheviks overthrew the Tsarist monarchy in 1917 and replaced it with what has become known as Soviet Communism. Since then, Communism spread to Eastern Europe, China, parts of Asia and South and Central America.
The statement asserts, "Over the past century, Communist totalitarian regimes around the world have killed more than 100 million people and subjected countless more to exploitation, violence and untold devastation."
"These movements, under the false pretense of liberation, systematically robbed innocent people of their God-given rights of free worship, freedom of association and countless other rights we hold sacrosanct," it continues, adding, "Citizens yearning for freedom were subjugated by the state through the use of coercion, violence and fear."
It goes on to note there are still many "who continue to suffer under Communism," as well as "those who have fought courageously to spread freedom and opportunity around the world."
In 1917, the Blessed Virgin Mary — after showing them what Hell looks like — told three shepherd children at Fatima:
You have seen Hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved, and there will be peace.
The war is going to end: but if people do not cease offending God, a worse one will break out during the Pontificate of Pius XI. When you see a night illumined by an unknown light, know that this is the great sign given you by God that He is about to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war, famine and persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father.
To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart and the Communion of reparation on the First Saturdays. If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated. In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, and she shall be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world.
A recent poll conducted by Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation revealed that half of the 2,000 millennials polled believe a Socialist or Communist government is superior to a Capitalist system.
