With the possible exception of Susan Page, the debate and town hall moderators have proven to be anything but fair, and everyone knows it.

Without ever setting foot on the debate stage, C-SPAN's Steve Scully, who was scheduled to moderate the second debate, was caught red-handed, lying about his pre-debate tweeting with Anthony Scaramucci, a known Democrat operative. Fox News Chief Political Correspondent Bret Baier reflected on the incident.

"It is a big black eye for the debate commission, which already had black eyes for the way it handled COVID, canceling the debate, going virtual, not telling the campaigns and then this," Baier said.

In a telling example of how the media gaslights the American voter, Tom Jones, writing for the Poynter Media Studies Institute, said of Scully: "If you're looking for, truly, the epitome of neutrality and a straightforward and down-the-middle demeanor, Scully is your guy."

Critics wonder how neutral could he have been. He was an intern for Joe Biden and a Capitol Hill staffer for Ted Kennedy.

Against this backdrop of unrelenting partisanship, Kristen Welker will be moderating the final presidential debate.

Welker is the NBC News White House correspondent and co-anchor of Weekend Today. She is of African American/Native American heritage and attended an elite private school in Philadelphia, then went on to Harvard. She has spent her entire career in broadcast journalism, primarily with NBC.

Calling again on our media expert, Tom Jones, he assures his readers: "Kristen will ask the tough and necessary questions on behalf of American voters."

Here's an example of her "tough" style. The mic is hot. She's with a Clinton campaign official. Welker prompts the Clinton spokesperson: "I'm going to ask you about [former Trump National Security Adviser Michael] Flynn."

Welker's elite education has served her well. She is a quick learner. After Steve Scully's tweets unmasked his Democrat ties, Welker deleted her entire Twitter account. President Trump lets her know she's not fooling anyone.

"Kristen Welker is a died-in-the-wool, radical-left Democrat, or whatever she is — why are you defending her? Then ask her why did she delete her [Twitter] account?" President Trump asked.

Her parents donated at least $20,000 to the Obama campaign. And don't miss this: Her family has donated $3,300 to Joe Biden, who will be in the debate she is moderating. The family spent Christmas with the Obamas in 2012.

A senior White House official said: "Anyone who's ever dealt with Welker knows she's an activist, not a reporter. The White House press team views her the same way they would AOC [Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez] or [House Speaker Nancy] Pelosi if they walked in the office."
