DETROIT, August 22, 2015 (ChurchMilitant.com) - As part of a nationwide effort mobilizing thousands of pro-lifers, hundreds turned out in various metro Detroit locations to protest and pray in front of Planned Parenthood abortion mills.
In the suburb of Ferndale, about 250 pro-lifers stood across a major thoroughfare in front of Planned Parenthood, where about a dozen abortion advocates held signs and went through their usual pro-abortion "My body, my choice" chants. Included were the usual assortment of witches and lesbians.
The entire national effort was pulled together in response to the gruesome videos serving as proof that Planned Parenthood is engaged in a lucrative business practice of selling parts and pieces of aborted babies — a story the major secular media outlets have almost entirely ignored.
While there were no major clashes between the opposing sides, ChurchMilitant.com senior executive producer Michael Voris was confronted by a couple of the pro-abortion activists while he was producing video shots of the demonstration.
A Planned Parenthood official put a camera phone about eight inches from Voris' face and attempted to grill him on his activities. Michael Voris told him his name and ChurchMilitant.com contact information. One abortion supporter yelled a vulgarity at him; the scene broke up when Voris walked away to continue working.
Intimidation and misinformation are the hallmarks of street demonstrators for abortion.
One abortion advocate who mixed it up with the ChurchMilitant.com crew said we were harassing them by our presence on the street and told bystanders the video exposés were doctored and not real — a line she would have gotten from the disinformation machine of Planned Parenthood National.
Planned Parenthood was founded by racist and eugenicist Margaret Sanger with the aim of reducing blacks and other populations she deemed "undesirable."
Planned Parenthood currently receives more than a half billion dollars a year from taxpayer money, but as the videos exposing the sale of baby parts gain more attention, a number of states have cut off funding to the abortion giant, and there are calls on Capitol Hill to do the same on the federal level.
Obama and Hillary Clinton have both come out in defense of Planned Parenthood, and Obama has even threatened to retaliate against states that cut off Medicaid funding for the outfit, which performs close to 400,000 abortions in the United States each year.
