While this is yet another of scores of articles I've written over the last 40 years about pedophile priests who have been convicted for their crimes in Michigan, this story actually contains the words of the victim. The occasion for this news report is the Nov. 8 sentencing of former Michigan priest Timothy Crowley, 74, for unfathomable sex crimes he committed against a minor at an Ann Arbor parish. He was sentenced to one year in prison, five years of probation and slapped with a multitude of restrictions on his behavior. Read more
The goal of learning, especially the liberal arts, is not to teach others but to apply what you have learned to your personal life and to live a "free" and virtuous life. A liberal arts education teaches one how to be free from being tied down to doing one thing. A student of the arts can do anything because he has learned how to learn. Read more
The Catholic priesthood in 2023 is largely a gay profession. Straight priests suffer heterophobia because of this sad phenomenon. In the old form of the Roman rite, a funeral Mass or a Mass on All Souls' Day is called a Requiem Mass. That word, "Requiem," comes from the opening words of the Introit: "Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine" — "Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord." Read more

He and his family often made pilgrimages to a nearby Marian shrine, and his parents taught him to pray the Rosary. From a young age, he felt called to be a priest, but young Anthony was trained in the family business of weaving. The Lepanto Institute has received several requests concerning Jesuit Refugee Service, asking if it is safe for Catholic donations.
