Pope Francis' top cardinal canonist has blasted as "absolutely false" and a "pure lie" news reports alleging that reformation attempts are being made to include laymen in the conclave that will vote for the next pope. Over the years, the Catholic Campaign for Human Development has provided grants to the organization called Congregations United to Serve Humanity (CUSH). The recently published CCHD grants list for 2021–2022 shows that CUSH received a grant of $45,000 for that year. The Roman pontiff reaffirmed Catholic teaching on Holy Orders in an interview about a recently released book on the pastoral nature of his pontificate.
