Elise Rivet was imprisoned by the Nazis for hiding Jews in her convent. At Ravensbrück, she offered to take the place of a fellow prisoner to be executed. Blessed Maria Restituta, imprisoned at Auschwitz for her faith, was the only nun to be tried and convicted by a Nazi criminal court. Their lives — and deaths — are examples of courage and faith to all who face persecution.
