Antifa on Campus

Trump calls out anarchist terrorism

June 3, 2020  0

An ex-Antifa member revealed Antifa is recruiting young people on college campuses.

Gabriel Nadales: "Let me tell you, it is far more violent than anything I ever experienced or witnessed, and I think it has to do with the fact that so many college administrators and college campuses that allow Antifa to work under their noses."

Catholic Fox News host Laura Ingraham interviewed Gabriel Nadales on Monday, where he began by calling the group's claim to be "anti-fascist" a "false narrative."

Gabriel Nadales: "Antifa pretends to be about fighting fascism, but they define fascism as basically anything that does not conform with their radical leftist agenda."

He offered her a detailed description of the group's inner workings.

Gabriel Nadales: "So Antifa started after WWII, but as far as American Antifa, it's been around for a couple of decades. But I was in Antifa back in 2011."

The organization is accused of working with looters and criminals to both participate in and incite riots in Minneapolis, Washington D.C., New York and Los Angeles.

Nadales also commented on the group being allowed to openly recruit at the University of Florida.

Gabriel Nadales: "We reported on a story from the University of Florida in which an Antifa group was openly recruiting in broad daylight. Well let me just say this very clear, we don't let ISIS recruit on college campuses and we should not allow Antifa to do that either."

The news comes amid a tweet from President Donald Trump earlier this week declaring that he will be officially designating them a domestic terrorist group.

Academia has long been silent on Antifa violence, and sometimes even complicit in it.

Professor Eric Clanton of East Bay College near San Francisco joined Antifa in a violent Berkeley counterprotest in April of 2017 and beat a free-speech demonstrator with a bike lock, getting three years' probation for his violence.

Attorney General William Barr, in a statement, condemned "far-left, extremist groups using Antifa-like tactics."

William Barr: "It appears the violence is planned, organized and driven by anarchic and left, extremist groups — far-left, extremist groups using Antifa-like tactics."

With many major cities burning across the country, and social unrest growing, many like Nadales are praising Trump for his swift response to Antifa's domestic terrorism and hoping it will keep them away from college campuses.

Donald Trump: "These are not acts of peaceful protest. These are acts of domestic terror."
