WashPo settles with smeared pro-life teen

Nick Sandmann is pushing forward in his battle against the mainstream media.

On his 18th birthday Friday, Sandmann announced he settled with the Washington Post out of court, ending his $250 million defamation suit.

This is his second settlement. He made a similar agreement with CNN in January.

Though the details of both settlements are unknown, sources claimed CNN paid out millions.

He has six more lawsuits pending against media giants like NBC and The New York Times. Sandmann tweeted Friday, "Thanks to my family and millions of you who have stood your ground by supporting me. I still have more to do."

The lawsuits accuse media companies of defaming Sandmann over an encounter with Native American activist Nathan Phillips after the 2019 March for Life.

Mainstream media falsely claimed Sandmann — and classmates from Covington Catholic High School — harassed Phillips, yelled racial slurs and blocked his way to the Lincoln Memorial.

The Catholic teens faced a torrent of death threats and online abuse, even as video evidence surfaced showing it was Phillips who targeted them.

Bishops and pro-life leaders also threw the high schoolers under the bus. Most of them changed their tune when evidence exonerated the teens. But a few — like liberal Bp. John Stowe of Lexington, Kentucky — only doubled down, accusing them of racism and bigotry.
