Mail-Order Death

Fallout from FDA reversal

April 19, 2021  0

Pro-life Americans are outraged the Biden administration, on Monday, reversed President Trump's ban on ordering abortion pills through the mail.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) previously restricted the dangerous drug Mifepristone, or RU-486, because it violated a required "risk evaluation and mitigation strategy."

Brooke Paz, government affairs coordinator at Students for Life Action, had this to say:

We are devestated by the FDA's decision to allow what we consider death by mail. We know chemical abortion pills are dangerous to women's health, their fertility and their lives. And sending these deadly pills through the mail without any pre-screening or follow-up care is convenient and cost-effective for corporate abortion, but women will and have paid the price as will countless preborn infants.

The FDA reporting requirements have waxed and waned through various administrations, causing a significant under-counting of harmful effects to women by the drug.

Since 2000, more than 4,000 women have suffered adverse reactions after taking RU-486 and 24 women have even died.

Paz: "Ironically, the FDA simultaneously took the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine off the market after six people suffered serious blood clots and one died, but chemical abortion drugs have already killed more than 20 people. You would think that tragic reality would warrant the same reaction."

Ever since Roe v. Wade forced abortion upon the nation in 1973, Planned Parenthood has led the way in stifling efforts to save women from its abortion trap. Abortion mills have used walls, escorts and buffer zones to prevent pro-lifers from offering safe, life-affirming options.

Ordering abortion pills by mail obliterates many of these pro-life efforts.

Paz:

Abortion has become anonymous. Postal workers and pharmacists become complicit in abortion, which may violate their conscience rights if they are pro-life. And where do community members engage in prayer and outreach if abortion happens in bathrooms rather than abortion facilities? Women won't have the opportunity to engage with counselors and activists who can help them rather than offering an abortion.

Under Marxist COVID restrictions, reaching people in crisis is increasingly more difficult. Now, more than ever, it is crucial to spread Catholic morality.
