Orban: Leftist Imperialism Reigns

Leader decries liberal propagandism in the West

Populist leaders are claiming the Western world is falling for liberal propagandism.

Hungarian president Viktor Orbán is warning of what he calls "liberal imperialism" by leftists in Western Europe and in America: "I look at the countries of those who keep sending messages to us about how to live correctly, how to govern and operate a democracy well, and I don't know whether to laugh or cry."

Orbán casually defended American police officers as well, brushing off the idea of blacks being beaten in America as old Soviet propaganda. He referenced the toppling of statues across the West as another major issue.

The vandalism also drew the ire of United States president Donald Trump during his Saturday rally in Tulsa. President Donald Trump barbed, "The unhinged, left-wing mob is trying to vandalize our history, desecrate our monuments — our beautiful monuments."

This news comes as historical icons are being replaced and destroyed across the nation, iconic images the Left claims represent a racist history, a history that apparently includes Catholic saints.

On Saturday, a statue of St. Junípero Serra in Los Angeles was torn down by activists accusing the famed Spanish evangelist to Native Americans of mistreating their ancestors. Another statue of the saint was also toppled in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.

With images of abolitionists, Founding Fathers and Confederates being removed from the public eye entirely, populist leaders across the globe, like Hungary's Orbán, are worried about the preservation of Western history — good and evil alike.
