"The Trudeau liberal government is working to ban what they euphemistically call 'conversion therapy,'" said Clinton Somerton.
Facing LGBT bills that would criminalize Catholic teaching in Canada, Clinton Somerton of Campaign Life Coalition warns Canadian Catholic bishops and school trustees to wake up and fight against an LGBT lobby that will not go away until the Church is defeated.
The bills are based on the work of radical pro-LGBT activist and academic Kristopher Wells, who has been pushing for government control over the Church on the municipal and federal levels.
In a document titled "Conversion Therapy in Canada," Wells writes:
Modern forms of conversion therapy are still happening in Canada, particularly in some Catholic and faith-based schools, which often occur under the guise of "pastoral approaches to care." Many of these approaches, refer to LGBTQ2 students as "'persons with same-sex attractions," suggest that transgender and non-binary youth are being influenced by a so-called "gender ideology," and enact policies that call LGBTQ2 youth to live chaste lives.
Somerton: "What Wells is saying here is that even Catholic schools teaching the immutable truth of the Catholic Church regarding human sexuality are administering conversion therapy under his sweeping definition."
By compromising with anti-Catholic agendas and failing to teach the Catholic faith boldly, Cdl. Thomas Collins of Toronto has emboldened men like Wells and like-minded lawmakers in Trudeau's liberal government to silence the Church and forbid her teachings to be heard, even in Catholic schools.
Collins has a history of caving to incessant attempts to normalize every manner of sexual license. He told Canadian lawmaker Jim Wilson to "back off" opposing the sex-ed curriculum in 2015, and gave his blessing for the Toronto Catholic School Board to include so-called gender ideology in its charter for schools in 2019.
Somerton: "And so we see that the further we back ourselves into a corner ... the more ferocious the enemy will become. ... Please recognize this conversion-therapy ban for what it is, an attack on Christianity and the very nature of man."
