Americans suffer more from lockdowns than virus deaths

June 12, 2020  0

While Wuhan virus deaths have fallen far short of numbers predicted by media and government officials, poverty, sickness and vice have skyrocketed.

In March, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control predicted 160–214 million people would be infected with the virus, with between 200,000–1.7 million deaths. It also estimated that between 2.4–21 million people would require hospitalization.

But three months later, the real numbers are nothing close to the estimates, with the current death count at about 113,000.

"You're going to lose more people by putting the country into a massive recession or Depression," said President Donald Trump.

The lockdown's ensuing economic and social collapse, meanwhile, is causing spikes in depression, addiction, poverty and death from untreated medical conditions.

By the end of March, 45% of Americans reported the virus has had a negative impact on their mental health, and in April, calls to a federal emergency hotline for people in emotional distress jumped more than 1,000%.

Online smut-giant Pornhub reveals worldwide usage jumped in March by 24.4% — in 2019 there were over 42 billion views.

Medical specialists also say that thousands of people will die due to untreated medical conditions due to the shutdown of medical facilities to nearly all but virus cases.

And the impact of shutting the economy down — causing the largest case of mass unemployment since the Great Depression, shutting down thousands of small businesses and forcing most workers to stay home — will take years to see the results.

As the price of lockdown measures continues to be tabulated, it's becoming more obvious the slogan "Staying home saves lives" has done anything but.
